Funeral services were held for Charlie George Purifoy in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was a native of Pleasant Hill, Alabama. He was the son of William Robert Purifoy and Willie Hardy Purifoy and the grandson of William “Bill” Purifoy.
He is survived by his wife, Mae; one sister, JoAnn Purifoy-Hurt of Selma, AL; The Purifoy family of Selmont, AL; several cousins of Birmingham, AL; and a childhood friend, Mary Webster Irby of Craigfield, AL.
He was a Marine Veteran and a Master Plumber. He retired from the City of Cleveland Public Works.
