Funeral services for Gloria A. Kennedy, 69, was held Sunday, August 3, 2008
at 2:00 P.M. CDT, at The Georgetown Baptist Church. The Rev. Bryce D.
Mitchell officiated and burial was followed at The Georgetown Cemetery with
Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula directing.
Mrs. Kennedy died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Medical Center Barbour in
Eufaula.
Born September 15, 1938 in Birmingham, AL. She was the daughter of (The
Late) Ashley Jackson Atkins &Mary Kimbrough Atkins of Selma, AL.
She was a graduate of A.G. Parrish High School, Class of 1957. She was a
graduate of Samford University in Birmingham and a member of The Georgetown
Baptist Church.
She was a resident of Panama City, FL. for 41 years before moving to
Georgetown.
Survivors include husband, Huey Kennedy-Georgetown, GA; children, Shari
Kennedy (John) Wimberly- Birmingham, Leslie Kennedy (Neil) Reynolds- Macon,
GA, and Warren (Leslie) Kennedy- Jackson, MS; sisters, Brenda (David)
Wile-Colorado Springs, CO, Cheryl (Tommy) Treese-Selma, AL; five
grandchildren, William Wimberly, Hayley Reynolds, Graham Reynolds, Scott
Kennedy, and Julia Kennedy.
Active Pallbearers were Louie Edwards, David Kinsey, Seab Ellis, Jim Adams,
Joey Seaborn, Joe Davis, Ben Moody, and Richard Baggett.
