Margaret McCauley

Margaret Frances McCauley, age 85, of Selma died Monday July 21 at her home following a lengthy period of declining health.
Miss McCauley was a long-time member of Barrett Road United Methodist Church where she is remembered for her sweet spirit and gentle ways. She served for many years on the Church’s administrative board and was active in United Methodist Women. She retired from the Alabama Forestry Commission with 34 years of service.
She leaves her sisters, Juanita M. Ratcliffe and Jean M. Prince of Selma and Betty M. (Rupert) Long of O’Fallon, Ill.; niece, Mary Catherine (Geoff) Coleman of O’Fallon; nephews, David L. Ratcliffe of Mobile, Ala. and William A. (Gelsomina) Long of West Peabody, Md.; along with three great nieces and one great nephew.
Miss McCauley was preceded in death by her parents, Felix Marion McCauley and Bertha Herrod McCauley; a sister, Marion Louise McCauley; and nephews, Randall E. Prince and Richard M. Prince.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday July 24 at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma with the Rev. Norman Williams officiating and the Rev. Deborah E.
Born, current Barrett Road pastor, offering a prayer. Evangelist Jessie LeSure (Dr. Love), Miss McCauley’s caregiver for seven years, will say a few words. The service will be directed by Lawrence-Brown Service Funeral Home.
