Selma’s Police Athletic League team returns home today with a second-place banner under its belt in the 2008 PAL National Basketball Championship.

That’s not a shabby performance at all.

More than the title, however, every participant in the PAL program is a winner.

This organization gives young people something to do, a well-supervised place to go and participate in mind and body building activities.

Any placement in a championship is a bonus after that.
