Ms. Mae Willie McConnell

Ms. Mae Willie McConnell, 73, of Autaugaville, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at her home.

Services are scheduled for 12 noon, Saturday June 28, 2008 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with the Re. L.L. Ruffin officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda McConnell, Dorothy Thomas, Gail (Ray) Adkison and Poala (Ronnie) Phillips; two brothers,Lediston Caver and James Caver; three sisters, Willie May Motley, Bertha Caver and Ozetta Thomas; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, two sons-in-law; one sister-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews; a very special grand-

daughter, Latoya McConnell; a very special sister-in-law, Mattie B. Howard.

Sarah Ellen Williams

Helms, a resident of the Terrace at Grove Park, Dothan, died early Thursday morning, June 26, 2008, in the Wesley Manor Retirement Center in Dothan. She was 70.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, June 27, 2008, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Mike Wehner officiating. Burial will follow in Headland Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P. M. Friday at the mortuary. At other times, the family will be at the home of a son, Charles A. Helms, III, 110 Walden Pond Road, Headland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the &8220;Beyond Measure Fund&8221; of the First Baptist Church of Headland or to the Headland Baptist Cemetery Fund, both c/o The First Baptist

Church of Headland, 301 E. Church Street, Headland, Alabama 36345.

Mrs. Helms was born in Sprott, Alabama but was reared in Selma, Alabama, daughter of the late Thomas Isaac Franklin Williams and Edna Matilda Nichols Williams.

She lived in Camden, Alabama

most of her adult lifetime before

moving to Dothan in 2001.

Mrs. Helms was a graduate of Wallace Community College in Selma. She was formerly employed by the Wilcox County Library as a librarian. Mrs. Helms was a member of the Camden Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Frederic Thomas and a sister, Reba

Lois Williams Smith.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Charles Alexander Helms, Jr., Dothan; a daughter, Dena Helms Thomas, Tyrone, GA; two sons,

Charles A. Helms, III and wife, Diane Helms, Headland; Franklin E.

Helms, Austin, TX; a sister, Martha Jean Green Hines and husband, Jim Hines, Enterprise, AL; a brother, Thomas Ray Williams, Selma, AL;

six grandchildren, David Thomas, Sarah Thomas, Scott Helms, Jay Helms and wife, Candice Helms, Chad Helms and wife, Danielle Helms, Nikki Helms; three great-grandchildren, Emma Helms, Ella Helms and Audrey Helms.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Scott Helms, Jay Helms, Chad Helms, Berry Green, David Thomas, David Duffle, Tommy Couch and Greg Davis.

Mr. Isadore Harris of Selma, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, in Atlanta, Ga.

Services are scheduled for 11 am, Saturday June 28, 2008 at Selma Ave. Church of Christ with Bro. Joseph Davis officiating.
