McMillan announces candidacy for Ward 3

Minnie McMillan has announced her candidacy for the Selma City Council Ward 3 seat.

McMillan has lived in Ward 3 for 25 years. She is a member of the Riverview Association, an organization that works to improve the community.

She believes she has the potential, imagination and spirit to relate to everyone.

McMillan wants to see the residents of the ward work together to improve the community and city.

She is a member of the New Vernon C.P. Church, where she serves as clerk, adult Sunday school teacher and choir member.

She is a 1973 graduate of Keith High School in Orrville and received her associate&8217;s degree from Alabama Lutheran College, Selma; a bachelor&8217;s from Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Ill., and a master&8217;s from Alabama State University in Montgomery. She has additional graduate hours at Auburn University at Montgomery and Auburn.

McMillan has worked as an educator/librarian at Concordia College for 30 years.

She is married to Roy McMillan Sr. They have two children.
