Dear editor,

This past weekend I had the honor, along with coach Jennifer Moore (Morgan Academy) to take some local girls to the Alabama Sports Festival to represent Selma and compete in volleyball.

To the girls: Catherine Armstrong, Kasey Green, Elizabeth Griffin, Summer Pugh, Anne Woodruff, Anne Pilcher, Mary Peyton Zimmerman,

I would like to thank each of you.

From praying as a team before each game to the way each of you handled yourself on and off the court, you not only make your parents proud you make Selma proud.

Coaches and referees from the festival came to me several times during the activities and bragged on how much heart each of you put into the game.

You came away with the bronze medal, which you should be proud of but most important you represented everything that Selma will be proud of.

Again thank you for the experience and memories you gave me.
