Annie Klinner Shedd

Annie Klinner Shedd, age 95, formerly of Selma, died peacefully Wednesday June 4, 2008 in a Birmingham nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.

Friday June 6, 2008 in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home officiated by Pastor John C Powers.

Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.

She was born in Maplesville and a 49-year resident of Selma. She moved to Birmingham in 1995 where she could be closer to her relatives.

She lived with her niece, Bennie S. Palmore, for 13 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Shedd, who passed away in 1995.

She had many family members and friends and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. Friday before the service.

Carol F. Morgan

Carol F. Morgan, 57, of Prattville died Saturday, May 31, 2008 at her home.

Services are scheduled for 4 P.M., Saturday, June 7, at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Plantersville, AL on County Road 222 by Camp Grist. With the Rev. Ira Blanchard officiating.

Survivors is her mother, Marjorie Stephens; her husband, Jack A.

Morgan; daughter, Tonia Morgan; sister, Geraldine Richey; brother, W. L. Stephens; Step Grandchildren, Joshua Sizemore and Ashley Hoffman.

Carol was a devoted wife of 40 years and loving mother.

Clara M. Martin

Clara M. Martin, 82, of Selma, died Sunday, May 28, 2008, at New York Hospital.

Funeral services was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Steven Washington officiating.

Burial was held in the Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home

directing.

Elvira Molette

Elvira Molette, 96, of Selma, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at home.

Funeral services will held at 12 noon, Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Tabernacle Of Praise Church, with Elder James Beal officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Live Oak Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two daughters, Ida (K.C.) Hollingworth and Vinnie King; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends

Essie Mae Williams

Essie Mae Williams, 74, of Orrville, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 at First Baptist Church Orrville, with the Rev. J.R. Curry officiating.

Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Georgia M. Smith

Georgia M. Smith, 69, of Selma, AL died June 2, 2008 at Jackson Hospital.

Services are scheduled for Monday, June 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Barnett.

Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Home.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Goodwill, Delwan Smith, Eric Smith, and Carl Perry; four daughters, Patricia (Tommie) Thompson, Pearlie Jackson, Malika (Nelson) Smith, Linda Goodwill-Sanders; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends, Rose Gooden, Ethel Lowe, and Mary Lee Blunt.

Mr. Barney Harris

Mr. Barney Harris, 68, of Selma, AL died June 1, 2008 at Carraway Medical Center.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 1:00pm at Miller Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Allen Barnett. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memory Garden under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include two daughters, Letha Harris Yelder and Teresa A. Harris; one brother, J. D. Harris; one sister, Rosie Harris Armstrong; two grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and a devoted companion, Ms. Ester Hood.

Pallbearers will include family and friends.

Evelyn Morgan Nabors

Evelyn Morgan Nabors, age 93, died Tuesday June 3, 2008 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday June 6, 2008 in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Stuart Wilson and Mr. Cal Holt. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Survivors include daughters, Neva Nabors (Frank) Wallace of Shreveport, AL, and Nora Nabors Harris of Baton Rouge, LA, son, Truman D. Nabors, Jr. of Abiquiu, NM, brothers, R. Christy (Frances) Morgan of Corinth, MS, Billy R. (Ruth) Morgan of Selma, Barney B. (Susan) Morgan of Selma, sister, Brenda Morgan (Tony) Andrews of Selma, sister-in-law, Willetta Spinks Morgan of Selma, eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman D. Nabors, sister, Marie Morgan Cash, and brothers, Leon E.

Morgan and James E. Morgan.

Mrs. Nabors was a secretary for the Dallas County Department of Pensions and Security for 35 years until declining health she was an active member of the Pilot Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the U.S. Daughters of the American Colonials, the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, and the U.S. Daughters of the War of 1812.

She held membership on the Society of the Descendants of the Colonial Clergy, the South Carolina Huguenot Society, and the DAR of Alabama Officers Club.

Her joy was serving as a pianist at Harper&8217;s Chapel Presbyterian Church for 65 years.

She was a Sunday school teacher, an Elder and Clerk of Session. She was active in Women of the Church, and a past President of the Women of the Church, Tuscaloosa Presbytery, US. She was presented an Honorary Life Membership in the Women of the Church, Presbyterian Church USA.

Mrs. Nabors was the first female elected by the Tuscaloosa Presbytery US to attend General Assembly.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and Friday 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home.

Margie Golson, of Marion formerly of Selma, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 in Marion.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Graveside services was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2008 in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Inc. directing.

Vincent Smith

Vincent Smith, 43, of Selma, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Montgomery County nursing home.
