Dear editor,
I have recently moved here from a smaller town. I was skeptical of moving here after the stories that I had heard. These stories ranged from racial tension to social outcasting.
Let me put these stories to rest. I have been here for almost a year, and I think that would give me enough experiences to form an opinion of Selma.
I was welcomed here with open arms. It was a breath of fresh air to receive this welcome. I have had the pleasure of meeting and befriending such great people as Phillip and Dru Wheat, Thomas and Gail Hughes, Tom Wilbourne, David and Cammie Lane, Duncan and Jess Hope,Alston and Susan Keith, Erica Slone and the list could go on for pages and pages.
I am not trying to offend the people that are not on this list but the paper will only let me print so much.
The people of Selma need to be proud of who they are and where they live. I am so glad to have the experience to be here to interact with the people of this town.
I am looking forward to being here and meeting more of the wonderful people here. Once again let me say thank you all and look forward to seeing you in town!
