An apparent source of amusement for some random person has become an annoyance to Selma High faculty and students.

The school was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a bomb scare, and it&8217;s something that has become an expected occurrence.

Students and teachers were forced out of the building shortly after 2 p.m. while police units and fire trucks approached the school&8217;s main building on Broad Street.

After standing around for about 20 minutes, the all-clear sign was given, and the day proceeded as normal.

It proceeded as close to normal as possible, anyway. The most frustrating thing for students was the disruption of exams.

Allen could not give an exact number, but said this was at least the fifth time in the past two weeks an incident like this has happened.

Police responded to two threats at the school before 10 a.m. Monday, both of which turned out to be bogus.

Although inconvenient, some at the school were unwilling to let the disturbances deter them.

Interviews for the J.A. Pickard scholarship, named for the former Selma City Schools superintendent, were interrupted because of an earlier threat. The school still found a way to complete them, however.
