Clara Nell Burton

Clara Nell Burton, age 64, of Selma died Sunday May 11, 2008, in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. at Ocmulgee Baptist Church officiated by Brother Donald Harris and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Burton is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ray Burton, sons, Roger (Mary) Burton, Tim (Tammy) Burton, seven granddaughters, Tami Lee, Amanda Hanks, Kasey Burton, Ashley (Josh) Lockhart, Jessica Burton, Stephanie Burton, and Reagan Burton, one grandson, Kenneth Martin, two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Kenneth Martin, Paul Spano, Derek Lassiter, Justin Gaylor, Wade Houston, Bennie Hollingshead. Alternate pallbearers will be Henry Hollingshead, Sr., Tommy Woodward and Logan Lovelady. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Jack Burns.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.p. Tuesday at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Hollis &8220;Polly&8221; Hoggle

UNIONTOWN &8212; Mr. Hollis &8220;Polly&8221; Pearson Hoggle, age 77, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at his home with his loving family at his bedside.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Uniontown Church of God with Rev. Ronnie Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown with Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors directing services.

The family will receive friends at the Uniontown Church of God Tuesday, May 13, 2008, from 6 until 8 p.m. and the body will lie in state one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.

Polly was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Ward Hoggle and Pearl Adams Hoggle; his sister, Annie Pearl Yelverton; his brothers, Stanley Hoggle and James Hoggle; his grandson, Andy Hoggle.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Nell Dowd Hoggle of Uniontown; two daughters, Ruby (Glenn) Johnson of Uniontown, Annie (Ken) Ward of Gallion. Two sons, Hubert (Barbara) Hoggle of Uniontown, Ray (Debbie) Hoggle of Selma. Nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Ruby Johnson of Sawyerville and Betty (Jim) Elmore of Tuscaloosa. Two brothers, Bobby Hoggle of Tuscaloosa and O&8217;Neal &8220;Duck&8221; Hoggle of Selma.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chris Hoggle, Kenny Hoggle, Roger Hoggle and Michael Johnson; nephew, Danny Hoggle and his brother, Bobby Hoggle Honorary pallbearers will be Henry LeVert, Charles Spence, Eric Ray, Dr. Ronnie Chu, James Boozer, Justin Hoggle, Nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice, Bill Glass, Gerald Pruett and Tammy Vann.

Mr. Bennie J. Austin

Mr. Bennie J. Austin, age 90 of Forkland, Alabama passed May 8, 2008 in

Demopolis, Alabama.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 1 p.m. at the First United Baptist Church, Forkland, Alabama. Interment

adjoining cemetery.

William Van Sickler

William Van Sickler, age 83, of Selma, AL died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Selma Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Marion Van Sickler of Selma; three sons, Bill (Nell) Van Sickler of Baytown, TX, Steve Van Sickler of Gulf Shores, AL, and Mike (Linda) Van Sickler of Gulf Shores, AL; daughter, Liz Frost of Colorado Springs, CO; nine grandchildren and five great grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Van Sickler, Steve Van Sickler, Mike Van Sickler and grandsons.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association.
