Hodges awaits arraignment

Bemmer Hodges, 32, of County Road 7 in Plantersville, has been indicted by a Dallas County grand jury for manslaughter in the stabbing death of Eddie Herman Marzette of Marshall Avenue in Selma.

She is being held in the Dallas County jail awaiting arraignment in circuit court.

The knife stabbing occurred Jan. 11.

A police report shows Hodges had left the scene when police arrived at

at Club Donnie Roy’s.

Bleeding from his leg wound and having trouble breathing, Hodges struck a guardrail on Maxey Street between Alabama and Water avenues where he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Gelinda Jackson, a passenger in the car, was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment.

According to police reports, Marzette was Hodges’ ex-boyfriend.
