Lucy Poulsen Young

Lucy Poulsen Young died on, April 26, 2008, in Montgomery, Al. She was a lifelong resident of Selma, Al.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Houston Young, Sr., her parents John Hans Poulsen, Sr., and Gertrude Brislin Poulsen, her sister Katrina Poulsen Kerliloske and her very special &8220;adopted son&8221; Webster Lyter Cowden Jr.

She is survived by her son, Robert Houston Young Jr., her daughter-in-law, Florence Hamlett Young, her brother, John Hans Poulsen Jr., her sister-in-law, Oneida Moore Poulsen, her brother-in-law, Richard Warren Kerliloske, three granddaughters, Florence Ellen Young (Webster) Cowden of Wilmington, NC, Elizabeth Montague Young (Lawrence) Fitzpatrick of Montgomery,Al and Mary Frances Young (Stephen) Logan of Nashville, TN, and five great-grandchildren, Ellen McMillian Cowden, Andrew Houston Cowden, Robert Webster Cowden, Ann Tyler Fitzpatrick, and Elizabeth McAllister Fitzpatrick.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at New Live Oak in Selma, AL with Dr. Ronald Stone and Rev. Joe Knight officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

The family wishes to thank her many friends for their love and support throughout her life and, particularly, to express appreciation to her personal care givers and to the staff of Cara Vita Village in Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Alabama regional Library for the Blind at 6030 Monticello Drive, Montgomery, AL 36130 or to the First Presbyterian Church of Selma at 301 Broad St., Selma, AL 36701.

Horace Lowell Patterson

Horace Lowell Patterson, age 83, of Plantersville died Thursday April 24, 2008 in a Montgomery hospital.

Funeral Services were held at Billingsley Church of God on Sunday,

April 27, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. officiated by Rev. Wendell Kelly and Rev. Jason Acreman and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Burial followed in the University Highway Church of God Cemetery.

Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife, Lillie W Patterson,

children, Sharon (Ellis) Stewart and Ray (Renita) Patterson, grandchildren, Dawn, Alan, Anthony, and Erica, great-grandchildren, Mallory, Andrew, Magan, Elizabeth, Caleb, and Sydney, sister, Una Faye (Leland) Lawrence, brothers, Curtis (Wilma) Patterson and Verlon (Mary) Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Olene Patterson and sister, Orene Chandler.
