Calvin Hall

Calvin Hall, 84, of Selma, AL, died April 20, 2008 at the Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Services will be April 26, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at Greater New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Johnnie Blunt officiating. Burial will follow at Greater New Hope cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, son, brother, and one sister. Survivors include two daughters, Nacy Richardson and Coranna Keeling; a special devoted niece, Betty Reese; one sister, Mercy Dell Boykin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will include his grandsons and nephews.

Eddie L. Bonner

Eddie L. Bonner, 67, of Dallas County, died April 21, 2008 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL. Services are scheduled for Monday April 28, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at the Isabella Baptist Church in Tyler, AL with Rev. Demarrio L. Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Isabella Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home, Inc.

Survivors include wife Mattie Bonner, father Paul Bonner, one stepson, three daughters, two stepdaughters, four brothers, and two sisters. Pallbearers will include his nephews.

Lovelle Parker

Lovelle Parker, 73, of Jones, AL died April 17, 2008 at Vaughan Regional Hospital. Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 26,2008 at 12:00 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include one brother, Richard Parker; five sisters, Genora Wallace, Cornelia Minor, Ethell Parker, Geraldine Martin, and Everlene McCary; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers will include nephews, relatives, and friends.

Mr. Arthur Blake Jr.

Mr. Arthur Blake Jr., 63, of Selma, AL died April 18, 2008 at Baptist South Medical Center. Services are scheduled for Sat. April 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Will Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include his loving and devoted companion, Annie Mae Woods; three stepdaughters, Augusta (Tommy) Cole, Selma, AL, Georgia Woods, and Estella (Willie) Holmes; two brothers, Oscar (Viola) Blake, Addoylotte (Audrey) Shields; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; one daughter-in-law; two brothers-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Albert McDole, George Davis, and Sarah Tripp.

Mr. Fred Lewis

Mr. Fred Lewis, 55, of Selma, AL died April 21, 2008, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Services are scheduled for Sat. April 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Miller&8217;s Chapel, Selma, AL with Pastor Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include spouse, Carolyn Lewis; four sons, Fred Lewis, Jr., Jerry, Fredrick, and Benjamin Scott; seven daughters, Regina Chandler, Rochelle Lewis, Victoria Hunter, Kimberly Hunter, Angela Hunter, Erica Scott, and Tracey Scott; two brothers, Eddie Robinson and Willie James Robinson; five sisters, Annie Louise Williams, Lily Brown, Judy Faye Lee, Barbara Robinson, and Willie Mae Robinson; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one son-in-law; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rueben James Maul

Rueben James Maul, 65, of Selma died Saturday April 19, 2008, at Vaughan Regional Hospital.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday April 26, 2008 at East Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. W.J. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the East Salem Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnnie Jr. Edwards

Mr. Johnnie Jr. Edwards, 55, of Selma, AL died April 21, 2008 at Baptist South Hospital. Services are scheduled for Sat. April 26, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Gregory C. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Greater New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include spouse, Mrs. Renona Edwards; mother, Pinkie Edwards; three sons, Johnnie Edwards Jr. and Jonah Edwards of Selma, AL, and Chris Jones of Texas; four daughters, Stephanie Woods, Lachandra Edwards, Shafunda Edwards, Lila Edward all of Selma, AL; one stepdaughter, Temika Martin of Selma, AL; three brothers, Wallace Wells Edwards of Nevada, William Charles Edwards of New York, and Tommy Johnson of Selma, AL; five sisters, Bertha Caver, Lila Edwards, Josephine Edwards and Anna Jones all of Selma, AL, and Betty Willis of Chicago, IL; twenty-two grandchildren, two sons-in-law; one daughterinlaw; six brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; and devoted friends Charles Woods, Rick Marsha, and Anthony Johnson.

Richard Patrick &8220;Pat&8221; Fields

Richard Patrick &8220;Pat&8221; Fields, age 79, of Selma died Thursday April 24, 2008 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church officiated by Father Carroll Plourde and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Mr. Fields is survived by his wife, Dean Fields; daughters, Patti (Louis) McMilion and Margie (Richard) Holland; and son, John (Cristy) Fields, eight grandchildren, and sister, Julia Bettress. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Agnes Fields and brother, Larry Fields. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Burial will be in Oakwood Saint Margaret&8217;s Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery at 3:00 p.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends in Saint Andrews Hall after the service at Our Lady Queen of Peace.
