King announces candidacy for county tax collector seat

Tammy Jones King has announced she is seeking a fourth term as Dallas County Tax Collector.

With 20 consecutive years of experience, King, 47, said she brings diligence and dedication to the position and has worked well with county and state officials.

“My staff and I will never forget that we work for the people of Dallas County,” King said.

Her affiliations include being a member of the Selma Exchange Club since 1995 and a member of the Association of Alabama Tax Administrators since 1991.

She has lived in Selma for most of her life. King is a 1978 graduate of Selma High School and a former student of Wallace Community College Selma, where she studied business and accounting. She has also attended several annual tax conferences and state-level meetings.

King and her husband of 16 years, Craig S. III, and son, Craig S. IV, attend First Baptist Church, 325 Lauderdale St.
