The past two days have been busy ones for Meadowview Christian pitcher Carol Ann McIntyre.

There’s virtually no way to follow up a perfect game with an even better performance, but a complete-game win would do just fine.

After facing 15 batters in five innings and beating Central Christian Academy 13-0 Monday, McIntyre and the Trojans beat Evangel Christian Academy 6-1 Tuesday.

“I’ve pitched a two-hitter before, but never a perfect game,” McIntyre said. “I went 3-0 on the last batter, and I thought I was about to lose it, but I came back and got her out. I just threw fastballs on the inside.”

The Trojans (6-3) scored 11 runs in the first inning against the Warriors on Monday. McIntyre struck out 12 batters in her gem of a pitching performance and managed to put a jolt into her father and coach.

“The very last batter, she went 3-0 on,” Buddy McIntyre said. “I was thinking, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me. She’s not going to lose a perfect game, not now.'”

McIntyre took the mound a second consecutive day and struck out 10, allowing one earned run, to extend Meadowview’s winning streak to two games.

Adreka Parks got ECA’s only run across in the third inning when she wiggled out of a rundown after a double steal play had broken down.

The Trojans didn’t wait very long before answering.

McIntyre lined a shot past first base that rattled around in the right field corner and allowed to her to run the length of the bases. Rachel Eggert scored on a passed ball, and Taylor Hayes came home on an error to give MCS a 3-1 lead.

Haley Fox scored on a double steal in the fourth, and McIntyre hit a two-run triple in the sixth.

Audreka Parks took the loss after a wild five innings. She walked five, struck out one and allowed two earned runs.
