Ellen P. Carson, 97, of Selma, AL, passed on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at her home. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by J. H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home, Inc.

Dorothy “Dot” Hermann Chamberlain, 83, a Selma Native, died Tuesday April 1, 2008 at her home in Georgia. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 in Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Glen Smith officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Chamberlain was longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church and Secretary in the Dallas County and Selma City School systems for over 30 years.

Dot was the devoted wife of Ray Chamberlain, who preceded her in death in 2000, and is survived by her two sons, Don Chamberlain (Vicki Chamberlain) of Stockton, Alabama and Scotty Chamberlain (Kaye Taylor Chamberlain) of Bostwick, Georgia. She had three grandchildren, Richard Chamberlain, Ryan Chamberlain and Justin Chamberlain (Heather Chamberlain), with great grandchildren McCall Taylor Chamberlain and Andrew Scott Chamberlain.

Active pallbearers will be Justin Chamberlain, Ryan Chamberlain, Richard Chamberlain, Michael Carr, Ralph Zimmerman, and Tony Mehan.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made in her memory to Odyssey Hospice, 575 Research Drive Suite A, Athens, Georgia 30605.
