Mizel M. Fails, 61 of Detroit, MI passed on Friday, March 21, 2008 in Selma, AL.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12 noon on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah&8217;s Witnesses, Earl Goodwin Parkway.

Interment in Good Hope Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, AL under the direction of J.H.

Jackson Lee

Marion Barr Jackson Lee died peacefully following a lengthy illness March 24, 2008 in her Selma home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 26 from 6:00 until 7:30 pm in the Lower Hall of St. Pauls Episcopal Church.

Memorial Service will be held at St. Pauls Episcopal Church on Thursday March 27 at 10:00 am.

Marion &8220;Tootsie&8221; Lee was the widow of William Byrd Lee III, daughter of the late Marion Ammie &8220;Mallie&8221; Barr Carter, stepdaughter of George Ellis Carter and daughter of Benjamin Clements Jackson.

Tootsie is survived by her three children, Ammie Barr Lee (Howard) Jordan of Charlotte NC, William Byrd (Carolyn) Lee IV, of Augusta, GA, and Marion Seddon Lee (David) Frasier of Selma AL and her nine grandchildren, Mary Alexander Lee (Robert) Beachum, James Carlos &8220;Chuck&8221; Smith III, William McDowell &8220;Mac&8221; Frasier, Mathew Scott Smith, Katherine Elaine Lee, Carter Hunt Frasier, Carolyn Ann Lee, Marion Ammie &8220;Mallie&8221; Frasier, William Byrd Lee V, and her great granddaughter Charlotte Elaine Beachum, as well as much loved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her loving and ever faithful friends and caregivers, Annie Nora Washington, Wornzie Shannon, Geraldine Adams, and Vanessa Woods also survive Mrs. Lee.

Tootsie was born in Marengo County Alabama March 26, 1925.

She grew up in Nanafalia, AL and Selma, AL where she graduated from A.G. Parrish High School.

Tootsie attended Auburn University.

She was married at St. Pauls Episcopal Church Selma where she enjoyed serving on the Alter Guild and Flower Guilds throughout the years.

She served her community through the Selma Charity League and was a member of Selma Country Club. While with The Equitable Life Assurance Society she and Byrd lived in Birmingham, Selma,

Anniston, Mobile, Charleston, WVA, Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL, Macon, GA.

She delighted in entertaining whether for family, friends, former classmates or business associates.

Shirley Giles Pelham

Shirley Giles Pelham, age 82, died Saturday March 22, 2008, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Pelham retired from BellSouth Corporation after a career spanning more than 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, W. Randall Pelham, Sr. and Charles E. Golson, Jr., and an infant son, W. Randall Pelham Jr.

Survivors include a step-son, Charles A. Golson Sr., of Valley Grande, AL, a step-daughter, Sue Golson Davis of Sun City West, Arizona, 4 step-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday March 27, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Henry F. LeVert officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to one&8217;s favorite charity.

Neal Ransom Skinner Jr.

Neal Ransom Skinner Jr., age 87, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at his home.

Services will be held on Thursday March 27, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Ronald Eugene Stone officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Neal was born in Tennessee. He attended the University of Alabama and Howard College. He studied Medical Technology at Lloyd Nolan Hospital.

He enlisted in the U.S.

Army during WWII and served in Headquarters Division as a radio operator in France.

After the war he married Betty Sherrill Skinner on December 22, 1945. He worked as a medical technologist at several hospitals before moving to Selma to serve as Laboratory Director of the Selma Baptist Hospital and later the Selma Medical Center until his retirement in 1984.

Neal enjoyed working on his Ham radios and teaching others to use them.

After his retirement he enjoyed traveling (mostly to the beach), playing cards with friends and working crossword puzzles.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the VFW and the Elks.

Mr. Skinner is survived by his children, Elizabeth Skinner Heald (Charles) of Selma, Michael Sherrill Skinner (Carolyn) of Helena, AL, and David Flenniken Skinner (Val) of Clearwater, FL, grandchildren, Melanie Skinner Gaines (Scott) of Clay, AL, Sherry Lynne Skinner Barrow (Chris) of Alabaster, AL, Samuel Murphree Skinner, and Darlene Simpson Skinner, and great grandchildren, Alanna Gaines, Aaron Gaines, and Kera Barrow and a brother Joseph Reed Skinner (Judy).

Pallbearers will be the VFW honor guard. The family will have visitation on Wednesday March 26, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Cobb, William A., 1SGT, US Army, Ret., 76, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2008.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Leak-Memory Chapel with Rev.

Gary Burton and Bro. Malcolm Wade officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Leak-Memory Chapel.

Mr. Cobb was born in Selma, AL and attended Dallas County Schools, and completed an Associate of Arts degree from Wallace Community College.

He was a member of Eastmont Baptist Church and former member and Deacon of Pintlala Baptist Church.

He also was a member of the Montgomery Metro Exchange Club for 20 years, serving as President for 2 terms.

Mr.

Cobb retired from the U.S. Army in 1970 and from the State of Alabama Department of Corrections in 1995.

During his distinguished military career, Bill served with the Occupational Forces in Japan, serving as a courier for General MacArthur.

He was also a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War.

Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Cobb and Velma Roebuck Cobb Gray; son, Ronald L. Cobb; daughter, Denise L. Cobb; brother, William Lloyd Cobb; and sister, Louvine C. Harris.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Ann Cobb of Montgomery; daughters and sons-in-law, Karlene (Luke) C.

Porterfield of Montgomery; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen D.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Justin Cobb, Jessie Kellum, Aaron Pollack, Karl Pollack, and Bobby Porterfield.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Leta Vest, Bertha Roberson, and the caregivers from Vista Care Hospice for their dedicated care and compassion given to Mr. Cobb.
