A Selma woman was arrested in Austell, Ga. on Monday and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession during a raid of an alleged dog-fighting center.

Lasunda S. McQueen, 25, of Selma was listed by the Cobb County Police Department as one of five people arrested at the scene on misdemeanor charges when police raided a 5-acre dog-fighting training center on South Gordon Road in Austell.

Michael E. Sweeney, 45, and Erik M. Vann, 28, both of Austell, were charged with 16 counts of animal cruelty and dog fighting, which is a felony in Georgia.

The animals &8212; 11 adult and five puppy pit bulls &8212; were taken to Cobb County Animal Control, according to authorities.

Police had been investigating the site for two months after a tip from the Humane Society of the United States.

Police also found 105 grams of crack cocaine, which would be about 3.70 ounces,

and a couple of weapons.

Sweeney and Vann were charged with cocaine trafficking, possession of a firearm during a commission of a felony and theft by receiving stolen property &8212; one of the weapons.

It is uncertain why McQueen was at the site, authorities said.

Others arrested on misdemeanor marijuana charges were Barbara J. Jennings, 42; Kimberly Jenkins, 40; and Esther E. Bravo, 39, all of Austell and Jackqulin N. Bagley, 33, of Sylacauga.

Authorities said Bagley also was charged with giving them a false name and date of birth.
