Beulah Mae Smith

Beulah Mae Smith, 82, of Dallas County, died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Vaughan Medical Center.

Services are scheduled for 1 pm, Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Sandridge Baptist Church with Rev. M.

Burial under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lorenzar Melton & Ada Bell Harris Melton.

Survivors include husband Laurdell Smith; two sons, Calvin (Mary) Smith of Nashville, TN and Darry Smith of Selma;

two daughters, Lela (Earl) Doss of Lockport, NY and Diane (Frank) Prowell of Detroit, MI.

Geneva Stewart

Geneva Stewart, 75, of Selma, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at Park Place Nursing Home.

Services are scheduled for 12 noon, Saturday March 22, 2008 at Little Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Ussin officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include husband, Alonzo Stewart; one son, Charles Rasheed; three daughters, Tonia Neely and Gloria Jean Tolbert; one brother, Frank (Mary) Spivey; three grandchildren;

a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Inez Jemison

Inez Jemison, 86, of Selma, died on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date by Miller Funeral Service Inc.

Lucille Tolbert, 72, of Selma, died on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Vaughan Medical Center.

Mr. Bradford Ingram, Jr. age 25 of Coatopa, Alabama passed March 15, 2008 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 12:00 noon at Bethel Pine Baptist Church, Coatopa, Alabama.

Interment Dugg Hill Cemetery, Coatopa, Alabama.

Mr. Willie Lee Parnell

Mr. Willie Parnell, 70, of Selma, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Baptist South, Montgomery.

Services are scheduled for 2 pm, Saturday, March 22, 2008 at New Bethal Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethal Baptist Church under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include one son, Walter C.R. Parnell; two daughters, Patricia A. Parnell and Emma L. Parnell; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law; two nieces and two nephews.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.

Walter Allen Williams

Walter Allen Williams, 59, of Selma, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at Shelby Baptist Hospital.

Services are scheduled for 1 pm, Friday, March 21, 2008 at Ellenwood Community Church with Pastor Herbert Allen Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Elmwood cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sallie Mae Williams.

Survivors include wife, Monica Johnson Williams; seven sons, Walter (Marie) Britton, of Birmingham, Roderick Britton, Ernest Johnson, Jermiah Johnson, Willie Allen Williams, Jeffrey Williams of Selma, Christopher Ulmer of Hopewell, Virginia; two daughters, Elaine Britton, of Selma and Beverly Kennedy of Fayettville, NC., six brothers, Leroy (Mary) Allen of Troy, NY, Theodore (Tiwanna

) Allen, of Minneapolis, MN., Edward Allen, of South Carolina, Herbert (Constance) Allen, Sr., Frank Allen and Henry Williams of Selma; four sisters, Martha Suttles, Willie Bell Allen of Detroit, MI., Zelma Sims, Evelyn (Shedric) Gantt of Selma; twenty grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law; four brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be cousins and nephews.

Rosa Mae Gibbs Whitt

Rosa Mae Gibbs Whitt was born October 31, 1917 in Cecil, Alabama . She was the second child of ten, born to Jesse and Martha Gibbs. At an early age, she accepted Christ in her life and joined Saint James Baptist Church in Waugh, Alabama.

She attended Montgomery County Training School in Waugh, Alabama and after graduating continued her education for two years at Alabama State College in Montgomery, Alabama. Early in her teaching career she met and later married Arlue Whitt in 1941 in Beloit, Alabama. To this union were born five children.

Rosa was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, an active member of the Usher Board, a Choir member and served as Chairman of many programs.

Rosa departed this life on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband Arlue Whitt, son Bing Crosby Whitt, two daughters, Bernadette Whitt and Joyce Whitt Anderson. She is survived by her daughter Dolores Whitt Powe and son Arlue (Dian) Whitt of Lynnwood, IL., two sisters, Eunice (Pat) Campbell and Mable Galloway. Three granddaughters, one grandson, Ronald Whitt of Chicago, IL. Three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

William H. Brown

William H. Brown, 44, of Selma, died Monday, March 17, 2008 at Home.

Services are scheduled for 1pm, Saturday March 22, 2008 at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Campbell officiating. Burial will

follow in Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery, under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include two brothers, Manson and Grant Brown; six sisters, Lorene, Febie, Agnes and Josie Brown, Callie Davis and Maggie Hopkins; two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, ten nieces, nine nephews and a special friend, Mary Johnson.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
