David Allen Pitts, Sr.

David Allen Pitts, Sr., age 46, of Selma, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Selma from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Services will follow at First Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Lee Tate officiating. Interment will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.

David, beloved husband, father and son, is survived by his wife, Donna (Gibson) Pitts, and their sons, David Allen Pitts, Jr. and Charles Wilson Pitts. Other survivors include his parents, E.C. and Shirley Pitts, Sr.; brother, Emmett Clifton Pitts, Jr. (Chrissy); sister, Patricia Ann Pitts (Pensacola, FL); beloved aunt, Ruby Jean Pugh; his father in-law and wife, Charles and Ann Gibson (Tuscaloosa); his mother-in-law, Catherine Gibson (Selma) sisters-in-law, Debbie (Allen) Bentley (Tuscaloosa), Carol Sanders (Tuscaloosa) and Michelle (Levin) Chylek; nieces and nephews, Clifton and Sister Pitts, Madison and Daniel Bentley, Taylor Williams and Carson Sanders, along with many aunts and uncles.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Cabe, Kirk Jones, Jody Pilcher, Scott Pomeroy, Clint Wilkinson, Brian Arnold, Allen Longcrier and Lee Peake.

Honorary pallbearers will be the International Paper Employees of Number 15 and Number 16 paper machines.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an educational trust fund set up for Allen and Will Pitts in memory of their father, to be administered by First Cahawba Bank, P. O. Box 2140, Selma, AL 36702.

Eva Bell Winfield, of Perryville, died

Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Lloyd Nolan Hospital, Montgomery. Graveside services are scheduled for 12pm, Friday 21, 2008 with the Pastor Timothy Mitchell officiating in the Phillip Grove Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Otis Winfield Sr.

Survivors include four sons, Billy (Crystalyn) Winfield, Bernard Winfield, Otis Winfield Jr., Decordale Winfield; two brothers, Hersey Flemming, F.A.. Flemming; seven sisters, Susie Mae Lewis, Annie Flemming, Daralee King, Mary Alice Canada, Pearl (Alphonso) Curry, Louise House, Marguerite Vasser and eight grandchildren.

Viva Lee Duncan Harris

Viva Lee Duncan Harris, age 65, of Orrville, AL, passed away March 18, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon C. Harris.

Surviving are her sons, Mike (Cindy) Harris, Randy (Joanna) Harris and Jeff Harris; daughter, Susan (Bobby) Autrey; mother, Fannie Lee Duncan; grandchildren, Amber Lay, Olivia (Stephen) Anderson, Madeleine Harris, Susanna Harris, Nicole Autrey, Haley Autrey and Garrett Harris and great-grandchildren, Seanna Smedley and Peyton Anderson.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Levert officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Keith Bradford, David Bradford, Chris Nichols, Mark Smedley, John Stoudenmire and Steve Chapman.

Willie H. Christian, 88, of Minter, died

Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Vaughan Regional Hospital.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday 22, 2008 at Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
