Pitts drove across the southbound lane and continued traveling north on the grass shoulder, the report states.

Just south of Seratine Drive, he re-entered the southbound lane, over corrected to the left and drove into a large ditch on the southwest corner of Seratine Drive.

Pitts, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle while the truck continued to overturn, finally stopping on the northwest corner of the intersection.

Pitts landed 55 feet north of the intersection on the west shoulder, the report states.

He was pronounced dead at 3:34 a.m. at the emergency room of Baptist Hospital.

Tests will be conducted to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash, authorities said.
