“We got plenty of hits, we just left too many runners on base,” Morgan coach Carrie Nichols said.

The Senators (1-4) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third when Mary Peyton Zimmerman stroked an RBI triple to right field. It was one of three extra-base hits for the team.

The Warriors followed up with a pair of runs in the fourth to take a lead that stood to the end of the game.

Rebekah Rutledge got the first of her two sacrifice flies with a deep popout to second base. An RBI groundout brought in another run.

Rutledge brought in Cottage Hill’s third run in the sixth with a flyout to center.

In the seventh, the Warriors got some insurance when Nicole Jones grounded out to first to bring in another score.

Mallory Brown earned the win after pitching a complete game.

Sarah Callin Lewis gave up three runs over six innings to take the loss. Amy Austin surrendered a run in an inning of relief.
