Dear editor,

Monday, between 10:30 and 11 a.m., my doorbell rang. I answered the ring to find a city police car parked in front of my house and a city employee and a city police officer standing on my front porch.

I assumed the woman was a city employee because she had an ID tag clipped to her clothing. It was turned backwards, so I did not get her name.

She handed me a brochure, which she said was one of the mayor&8217;s programs, or words to that effect.

I told her I was not interested, tore the brochure in half and handed it back to her.

My question is: Why is the mayor using a police department car and a city employee to distribute what I suppose is his attempt to win voter support for himself and his programs and another term as mayor?

Didn&8217;t he get the message on Feb. 26 when his bond issue did not pass?
