The issue: Selma City Schools have an opportunity to rise up with some focus and cooperation.

Our position: Ignorance is never blissful, and in this case, has hurt the city&8217;s educational system.

Craig Pouncey, the state&8217;s educational financial chief, made an important point on Tuesday when he told the Selma City School Board it needed to focus.

Nothing illegal is going on with the district&8217;s money, he pointed out. But some education is required.

The school board needs to heed these words, cooperate and move forward.
