Dallas County girls fall to Demopolis Lady Tigers

DEMOPOLIS – Offense was a major problem for the Dallas County girls Thursday night.

The Demopolis Lady Tigers came out aggressively and barely let the Hornets into double digit scoring.

Jasmine Simmons scored 13 points and Valissa Sams scored 12 to lead the Lady Tigers to a 53-19 win in the first round of the AHSAA 5A Area 4 tournament.

The Lady Tigers started the game playing strong defense and led at the end of the first quarter 11-0. In the second quarter, Demopolis continued to put pressure on Dallas County and took a 27-4 lead into the half. Demopolis took a 43-5 lead into the final period.

The leading scorer for the Hornets was Shaneeka Davis with five points.
