Meadowview Christians girls break Lowndes streak

Seniors led the way at Meadowview Christian Academy on Saturday for Senior Night and handed Lowndes Academy its first loss of the season, 56-47.

The Meadowview girls enjoyed home court advantage as their two seniors, Carol Ann McIntyre and Deavan Aultman, both posted double-doubles to lead the way.

McIntyre scored 18 points, grabbed 11 rebounds in addition to five assists and two steals.

Aultman matched her teammate with a couple of steals and blocked a shot on defense. On offense the senior posted 12 points and 10 rebounds. She also had three assists.

Sydney Eagerton scored 18 points to lead the girls of Lowndes Academy.

Saturday was the second big game for the girls in as many days.

On Friday, Meadowview defeated Hooper Academy at Hooper, 49-40.

McIntyre earned top performer by posting a double-double.

She scored 19 points and pulled in 10 rebounds in addition to having three assists.

Aultman scored in double figures, 10 points, but missed the double-double with four rebounds and three assists.

After the weekend&8217;s action, the Meadowview girls are 19-4 for the season. They play next on Tuesday.

In other girls basketball action,

the ladies of Central Christian Academy beat Open Door, 78-26.

Tiffany Brown was the high scorer for CCA with 20 points.

She was followed by Shanika Williams with 13, Chantae Thomas with 11 and Erica Caldwell with 10 points.

Brown also had five assists and three rebounds. Williams lead the way with 12 rebounds, making her the only player to have a double-double in the game.

The win places CCA&8217;s girls team in the area tournament. CCA is undefeated, 4-0, in area play.

The tournament will be gin at 5 p.m. Friday at CCA.
