Mr. Guinn Allen

Jones &8212; Mr. Guinn Allen &8220;Sandy&8221; Sanderson, 83, died

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Jean Sanderson; grandson, John Blue; great-grandson, Taylor McFadden; and brothers, Darrell Sanderson and Thomas Sanderson.

Surviving are his sons, David A. (Ann) Sanderson, Charles K. (Judy) Sanderson and Wesley (Julie) Sanderson; daughters, Stephanie (Danny) Blue, Marcia Ezelle and Melvia (Dwayne) McKinley; brother, Lafayette (Frances) Sanderson; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Johnson officiating.

Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Headley, James Frederick, Jackie DeLoach, Josh Locke, Scott Burt, Gerald Jordan, Joseph Bedsole and Justin McKinley.

Mr. Sanderson enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the harmonica and juice harp.

He was a longtime employee of Bush Hog LLC.

He served in the U. S. Army and was a World War II veteran.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 1983.

Mrs. Alva Lee

Burnsville &8212; Memorial services for Mrs. Alva Lee Lansdell, a retired health care worker, will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Lansdell, 76, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Regency Hospital of Meridian, Miss.

Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Wallis of Town Creek, Donna Bryant and husband, Steve, of Burnsville, and Pamela Terry and husband, Mike, of Fayette; one son, Charles Lansdell and wife, Stephanie, of Hartselle; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters

Jimmie Wilson of Decatur, and Martha Smith of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Effie Williams; and sister, Elosie Osburn.

Final entrusted to Barham Funeral Home, Meridian, Miss.

Ms. Betty Pernell, 45, died on Saturday, Jan.

19, 2008, at Jackson Hospital, Montgomery.

Ms. Mary E. Adams, 45, died on Sunday, Jan.

20, 2008, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Sara Gross Alison

Minter &8212; Mrs. Sara Gross Alison, 85, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at St.

Paul&8217;s Episcopal Carlowville, with the Rev. Louis Skipper officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Alison is survived by her daughters, Ellen Alison Rutherford (Jeff) of Kenner, La., and Charlotte Lockwood Alison of Minter, grandchildren, Sara, Ashley, and Alison Rutherford of Kenner, La., sisters-in-law, Mary Alison of Minter, Evelyn Alison of Minter, Henrietta Boykin (Claude) of Huntsville, goddaughter, Catherine Boykin of Madison, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lockwood Alison.

Mrs. Alison was a WWII veteran, having served in the Army at the Pentagon and at Walter Reed Army

Medical Center. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama, and taught home economics for several years in Lowndes and Dallas Counties.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to St.

Paul&8217;s Episcopal Church in Carlowville.
