Parental involvement can make the difference in a student&8217;s performance.
Teachers and parents agree: Students benefit from having help at home with their homework, and visiting them at school.
Sharon Williams, a kindergarten teacher at Knox Elementary School, said students and teachers need more parental involvement, and as early as possible.
Myers Hawkins, III has served as a PTO president at the School of Discovery, and is active with his two sons. He said parents should look for after school programs. A routine helps students as well, he said.
The routine in the Hawkins house has been the same for years, It has helped, Hawkins said.
