For Stripling and her fianc/, Clint Tranum, the next two weeks are likely to be a blur as the couple prepares for their dream wedding days after finding out they are having one.

By popular vote, Stripling and Tranum were named the winners of a $25,000 wedding giveaway contest sponsored by Weddings of Georgia and radio station Q107.3 of Columbus, Ga., that kicked off last year.

The wedding itself comes a scant two weeks and five days after the contest results were announced at a station-sponsored wedding extravaganza to showcase the wedding&8217;s vendors

Sunday.

The ceremony and reception will be held Fri., Jan. 25 at the Garrett-Bullock House, a mansion that was built during the 1800s and located in Columbus, Ga.

The announcement was an emotional time for their families. &8220;Both our mothers cried their eyeballs out,&8221; Stripling said. &8220;My mother said she was going to cry either way. We were glad it was a good crying.&8221;

Stripling said she is very grateful for her fianc/. &8220;The whole ride home, he kept saying &8220;We won!&8221; Stripling said, adding that he is very active in the planning.

Stripling said the vendors have been fantastic to work with, beyond what she expected, and that they get to personalize the wedding more than they thought, including with the number in the wedding party, color scheme, cake flavor and the choice between a sit-down dinner or buffet.
