The fanciest restaurant at Walt Disney World won&8217;t allow young children now.

Starting this week, children under 10 can&8217;t go to Victoria & Albert&8217;s in the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This is Disney Worlds&8217; only five-star restaurant.

The manager said the restaurant wanted to give the &8220;adult experience.&8221; The change was based on surveys taken by Disney.

We&8217;ve sat in fine dining places and listened to children scream and seen parents agonize through the meal.

We&8217;ve also sat in fine dining places and watched parents take turns with the child outside the restaurant so everyone else could eat in peace.

Sometimes, we prefer to eat in restaurants where children are rarely seen.

And Victoria & Albert&8217;s is such a place.

This restaurant starts at $125 per person. Men must wear jackets and women dresses or pantsuits.

At those prices, you can bet no chicken strips or hot dogs show up on the menu.

Children have their places. There are plenty of sites in the park left for children to have fun with the whole family.

Sometimes grownups need some time alone in elegance. It&8217;s something children learn later in life.

Disney has done this before on its cruise ships, and it has worked.

This is another way of creating a more desirable full-family experience. Parents need their alone time, too.
