A Selma man was arrested late Christmas night and charged with possession of marijuana when police discovered several bags of weed and a gun.

Erthur Davis, 28, of 1504 Small Ave., was arrested and jailed on a total of $20,000 bond.

Davis was stopped at Heritage Hills Apartments at 11 p.m. Tuesday night at 3100 Lincoln Dr.

Police discovered a large plastic bag containing five bags of marijuana, valued at $50, according to police reports.

Authorities also discovered a .38 revolver.

Davis was charged as a person forbidden to carry a firearm. He remained in the Dallas County Jail on Wednesday.
