CLANTON &045; Mable Wright Ratliff, 71, of Clanton died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.

She was born Sunday, Dec. 22, 1935, in Billingsley, daughter of the late Thomas Sidney Chandler and the late Sallie Roberts Chandler.

She was a seamstress.

Surviving are her two daughters, Sallie Wright of Billingsley and Sherilyn Britton of Billingsley; two sons, Tim Wright of Maplesville and Charles Wright of Millbrook; seven grandchildren, Jason Seales of Clanton, Paige Allen of Highland Home, Brandon Wright of Clanton, Cindy Britton of Hoover, Christa Britton of Hoover, Drew Brasher of Millbrook, Brooke Brasher of Millbrook; two brothers, Willie Chandler of Billingsley, Henry Chandler of Billingsley; and three sisters, Minnie Dorn of Nashville, Tenn., Clara Willias of Wadley and Velma Weaver of Jones.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Deacon David Wright officiating.

Interment will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Maplesville under the direction of Martin Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Charlie Smith Jr.

ALBERTA &045; Mr. Charlie Smith Jr., 65,

died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at home.

Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday at Pinegrove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Woods. Burial is in Pinegrove Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Inc.

Mrs. Willetta Edwards Melton

NORTHPORT &045; Mrs. Willetta Edwards Melton, 91, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, in Glenhaven Nursing Home in Northport.

She is survived by daughters, Faye (Donald) Harris of Valley Grande, Debra (Cecil) Smith of Northport; son, Wayne (Jonlee) Melton and daughter-in-law Jo Melton of Goldsboro, N.C.; sisters, Eileen Massey of Dothan, Doris Oakes of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers, Pete Edwards, Bob Edward, both of Selma, Clyde Edwards of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Norman Edwards of Corpus Christi, Texas.

She also is survived by her grandchildren, Danny and Mark Harris, Becky Harris Mims, Lisa Melton Reuter, Laurie Melton Lawson, Mike Melton, Chris Smith, Jill Smith Raynowska, Jennifer Melton Thorton and Anthony Melton and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mrs.

Melton was preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Melton; son, Edward Melton; brothers, Nathan and Thomas Melvin Edwards.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mike Melton, Chris Smith, David Rayowska, Jerry Mims, Danny Harris and Mark Harris.

Services will be performed by sons-in-law the Rev. Cecil Smith and the Rev. Donald Harris with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday at Ocmulgee Baptist Church with funeral services at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in adjoining cemetery.

at the Pine Grove Baptist Church, Rangeline Road, Linden.

The

Rev. Alfred Hudson will officiate.

Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Public viewing will be held

1 to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
