Congratulations to Mayor James Perkins Jr., the Selma City Council and TrustBuild for earning the Silver Award from the National League of Cities on Monday.

The announcement was made several weeks ago when the group met in New Orleans recently. But the actual passing of the check occurred Monday during the council meeting.

The city deserves a hearty pat on the back for bringing national recognition to Selma with this award.
