Sullivan scores 37 in win, CCA sweeps Marion Schools

UNIONTOWN – Frankie Sullivan’s 37 points weren’t all R.C. Hatch needed Tuesday night, but they helped.

The Bobcats (3-1) overcame an early deficit to beat Sunshine 70-60.

Down by 3 at the end of the first quarter, Hatch outscored the Tigers 20-12 to take a 34-29 lead at halftime.

Sunshine came back to cut Hatch’s lead to 47-46 going into the final period, but the Bobcats turned it on in time to pull away.

In addition to Sullivan’s game-high total, Brandon Battle scored 17 points.

Justin Wagner led the Tigers with 21 points, and Royce Hamilton had 18.

Central Christian, Marion Schools (Boys)

CCA had little trouble with visiting Marion Schools, taking a 70-23 win.

Akeem Ghantt led the Warriors with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Tarius Richardson added 15 points, and Bryant Rawls had 13.

Central Christian, Marion Schools (Girls)

Tiffany Brown led CCA (5-2) with 22 points in a 63-38 win.

Kara Rawls had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Aubrianna Laister had 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Morgan, Wilcox Academy (Girls)

The Morgan Senators edged by in a 40-32 win over the Wildcats.

Morgan (4-1) got a game-high 12 points and 13 rebounds from Jaime Pilcher, and Hayes Cothran added 10 points and 21 rebounds.

Taylor Owens and Sarah Henderson both scored 10 points for Wilcox.
