Mr. Arthur Boyd Barron, 73, of 2717 Citizens Parkway, Selma, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at his residence.

DEMOPOLIS &045; Mrs. Mary Besteder, 74, died, Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Christian Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis.

The Rev. Fred Moore will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Demopolis under the direction of Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors, Demopolis.

The remains will repose at the church, beginning 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Ms. Mary Parrish Butler

Ms. Mary Parrish Butler, 53, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at her home.

Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday at Antioch Baptist with the Rev. Curtis Williams officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Inc.

LIVINGSTON &045; Miss Alberta Lewis, 44, died Friday, Nov.16, 2007,

at DCH Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 p. m., Saturday, at the Dugg Hill Primitive Baptist Church, Coatopa with the Rev. John Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Livingston City Cemetery under the direction of Larking & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis.

Public viewing was 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

MARION &045; Mr. Arthur Russell Jr., 73, of Route 2, Box 181, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 in the Vaughan Regional Medical Center, Selma.

OPELIKA &045; Mrs. Della Perry-McKinley, formerly of Demopolis, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Christian Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis with the Rev. Fred Moore officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Demopolis under the direction of Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis.

The remains will repose, beginning at 1:15 p.m., Saturday, at the church.

Mr. George Wiley

Spiegner

MAPLESVILLE &045; Mr. George Wiley Spiegner, 85, died, Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Hatley Healthcare in Clanton.

He was born on March 30, 1922, in Autauga County, the son of the late Samuel and Batrice Langston Spiegner. He was a wood chipper operator.

Mr. Spiegner is survived by his two daughters, Peggy Atcheson and Sarah Livingston, both of Maplesville; a son, Allen Spiegner of Selma; a sister, Frances Davenport of Maplesville; a brother, Charles Edward Spiegner of Maplesville; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., today, from the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Maplesville. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the services at the church. The Rev. Joey Green will officiate.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Martin Funeral Home in Clanton.

Mrs. Freddie Mae Thomas

Mrs. Freddie Mae Thomas, 78, of Selma died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at Park Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She is survived by a devoted son-in-law, Moses Ray; two grandsons, Joseph and David Ray; six brothers, Tommie Dennis, Sam Dennis, Emmitt Dennis, Leroy Dennis, A.C. Dennis and Moses Dennis; a sister, Mattie Lue Jones; two brothers, Eugene (Alice) Thomas and Clifton (Louise) Thomas, other relatives and friends and a special niece, Rosie Lee Houser.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Lily Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Mr. Willie Washington

Jan. 6, 1922, was a blessed day when Willie Washington was born to the late Nathaniel Washington and Emma Maul-Washington. He was the ninth child of 10 siblings.

He confessed Christ at an early age and later joined The Freedom Baptist church family after retirement from his job in Cleveland and relocated to Selma.

He served his country as a proud soldier in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. During his years of military service he received several medals of honor, including the Fidelity Efficiency Honor, European African Middle Eastern Campaign, World War II medal; National Defense Award, Korean Service Award, Submachine Gun Operator and Carbine.

He also was one of the Tuskegee airmen. He was married to the late Georgia Mae Green. To this union three children were born: Dorothy, Irene and Melvin.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Dorothy Mae Washington-Morrison and Irene Washington &045;Dean, both of Detroit; a daughter-in-law, Doris Washington of Selma; a son-in-law, Michael Dean of Detroit; eight grandchildren, Mac Morrison Sr., Corey Morrison Sr. and Ivan Washington, all of Detroit; Derrick Washington, Ericka Washington (Jermaine), Aaron, La., Melody Washington (Anthony) Sellers, Natalie Washington and Ashley Washington of Selma; seven great-grandchildren, Mac Morrison Jr., Corey Morrison Jr., Kearsten Morrison, all of Detroit; Austin Washington, Aaron; a devoted sister, Estelle W. Ellis of Selma; a devoted niece, Dorothy M. Chatmon, Selma; two sisters-in-law, Ceola Washington of Birmingham; Ella Washington, Selma; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his son, Melvin; four brothers, James Washington, George Washington, Robert Washington and Reuben Washington; and four sisters, Louise Washington, Dora Washington-Chatmon, Rosa Washington and Corine Washington-Welch.

ORRVILLE &045; Ms. Annie &8220;Sweet Mama&8221; Johnson, 75, died Sunday at her residence.

She is survived by seven sons, Gilbert (Fannie Mae) Johnson, Edward Charles Johnson, Willie (Donna) Hayes, Willie Lee Johnson, Johnny Mack Johnson, Wyatt Johnson and Clyde Johnson; six daughters, Gloria Powell, Lela Smith, Rozita (Thedore) Lewis, Vivian Irby, Eddie Mae Lake and Rachel Johnson; three brothers, Charles (Mary) Johnson, John (Louise) Johnson and Andrew (Mary Alice) Johnson; a sister, Lula Johnson; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends; a devoted niece, Reneva Sattenwhite; a special friend, Mary Ellis; Willie Mae Pettway and Laura Irby.

Services will be noon, Saturday, at Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Charles Lett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.
