Our position: Students at Meadowview Christian School and Morgan Academy make us proud.

We’re strong believers in the saying that our youth is the future.

And, in Dallas County it’s apparent that the future is in solid hands. Just take a look at the accomplishments of some of them recently.

Over at Meadowview Christian School, the guys on the football team have worked hard with their coach and on Friday night will play in a game for the state title in Troy for the first time in 15 years.

Sports give students the necessary skills to work in today’s world, which is ever demanding of the need to balance and to work together as a team. These Trojans are a sterling example of students who have honed those skills.

Similarly, over at Morgan Academy, the accomplishments of the choir have assured us that the arts are alive and well in education.

Students at Morgan in the choir learned Wednesday they had won the choir competition at the National Peanut Festival in Dothan. They also worked hard, learning music, learning their parts and, like the athletes of Meadowview, balancing schoolwork, home life and choir practice.

From where we stand, students like these set a good example.
