Students enjoy a day out of classes

While school children enjoyed a day out of school, few of them knew the reason for the Veterans Day holiday.

The playground was a popular place, as was the smooth driveways of Bloch Park.

Some spent the Veterans Day holiday going to the doctor or dentist, or playing video games at home. Some got out and enjoyed temperatures that rose in the mid-70s.

Andrea Bass followed her four boys in their minivan &045; in case they needed a drink or to rest.

They spent the afternoon on Rollerblades in the park. Lowell IV, Andrew, Ashten and Landon didn’t mind the temperature dropping as the sun began to set.

Their mother signaled it was time to call it a day.

The Selma-Dallas YMCA was a popular place as well.

Brian Tarver was working two angles. He was at the Y, and while there filled out a job application.

Shawnte’ Thomas used her day out of school to work on her basketball game.

The ninth grader at Central Christian Academy plays on the varsity basketball team. She knew why they were out of school.
