A Marion man has pleaded guilty in Perry County Circuit Court to raping a 7-year-old girl.

Tyrone Jackson, 24, entered the plea last week before Circuit Court Judge Jack Meigs.

Jackson received a 20-year prison sentence.

Tyrone Jackson knew the family, said the district attorney.

Court records show that Tyrone Jackson was with the little girl and her brother in the evening of Feb. 3.

The child’s mother said her daughter told her that Tyrone Jackson laid her on the floor of the bathroom nearest her mother’s room and forced her to have sexual intercourse with him. After talking to her daughter, the mother said she took the little girl to the Greensboro Hospital for an examination.
