John Wyatt

Mr. John Wyatt, 90, of Clanton died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center, Birmingham.

He was born on Sunday, July 29, 1917, in Chilton Co., Ala., son of the late Tom B. Wyatt and the late Sallie Coggins Wyatt.

He was a brick mason.

Surviving are his wife, Lennie C. Wyatt of Clanton, Ala.; two daughters, Judy (Larry) Williamson of Orrville, Ala., Martha (Jeff) Whitehead of Conyers, Ga.; sister, Mamie Downs of Selma, Ala.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kim) Whitehead, Juanita Williamson (Jeremy) Barrett, Derek Whitehead, Sylvester Williamson; two great-grandchildren, Briana Whitehead and Reagan Barrett.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosie Nell Hicks Wyatt, parents, Tom and Sallie Wyatt; seven brothers and one sister.

Friends were received from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007.

Services will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at

1 pm. at Graveside with the Rev. Jeremy Barrett officiating.

Interment will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Maplesville, Ala..

He received the Purple Heart during WWII while serving in Europe.

The family request no flowers. Donations may be made to

Minister Annie M. Fair

Minister Annie M. (James) Fair, a native of Selma, Ala., Dallas County and resident of Mobile, Ala., for many years exchanged her life for eternal rest on Wednesday Oct. 17, 2007.

Funeral Service will be held at Faith City Deliverance Pentecostal 521 Mobile St. Mobile, AL. Saturday Oct. 27, 2007, at 11 am.

Betty J. Taylor

Mrs. Betty J. Taylor, 66, of Jefferson, Ala., passed Oct. 19, 2007, at Bryan Whitfield Hospital, Demopolis, Ala.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Jefferson, Ala. The

Rev. Edmond Charleston, eulogist.

Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery.

Mr. Paul Lewellen of Marion Jct., died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at a local nursing home.

Rosie Ester “Babe” McReynolds

Mrs. Rosie McReynold died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Ala.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, located at 306 Union Street Selma, Ala., where Brant Starks is pastor. Lewis Brothers Funeral Home is directing.

Rosie was born May 2, 1938, in Perry County, Ala., to Elizabeth and the late Joe Robbins. She was affectionately known by family and friends as “Babe”. She was employed by Washington Street Supermarket and later All Lock Company until her health failed.

Babe was married to late SSGT Council McReynolds Sr. and to this union eight children were born three of which preceded her in death. Daniel Louis “Rock” McReynolds and Josetta McReynolds-Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted mother Elizabeth Robbins of Selma, Ala., a sister Lizzie Mae Leonard of Amite, La., five children: Mary &8220;Wook” McReynolds of Selma, Ala., Joseph (Tina) McReynolds of Killeen, Texas, Jeffrey (Mary) McReynolds of Augusta, Ga., Kalim Muhammad and Council McReynolds Jr. both of Selma, Ala., one son-in-law, Arthur Smith III and two daughters-in-law, Mary Sue McReynolds, and the Late Emma Muhammad, one brother-in-law, George (Rose Mary) McReynolds, 18 grandchildren, Arycal (Venita), Benice (Jerome), Torrance, Corretta, LaChondra, Daniel Jr., Dietra, Monta, Bernadette, Julius, Jeffery Jr., Kalim Jr., Kalimma,

Khaalidah, Khaalilah, Karim, Preshiya, Antone and Arthur lV; 17 great-grandchildren; two special nieces Jacqueline and Renda Robbins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
