Harley Herbert Hopkins

Harley Herbert Hopkins, age 77, of Valley Grande died Saturday, July 7, 2007, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Selma Bible Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Charles Sullivan and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens.

Mr. Hopkins is survived by his wife, Louise Moore Hopkins; son, David Hopkins; daughters, Linda Morgan and Marcia Crane; daughters-in-law, Anita Hopkins, Barbara Hopkins and Kelly Hopkins; sons-in-law, Larry Crane and Jimmy Morgan; grandchildren, Chris Hopkins, Allan Hopkins, Michelle Hopkins, Edward Hopkins, Melissa Hopkins, April Hopkins, Megan Crane, Christian Crane, Katelyn Hopkins, Chris Bohannon, Cody Bohannon and Eric Morgan; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Lovelady, Tessie McFarland, Betty Warr, numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special dear friend, Minniefield Mooney.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Godard Hopkins; sons, Eddie Hopkins and Mike Hopkins; parents, Sammie Hopkins and Madelene Rush Hopkins; step-mother, Cora Hopkins; and sister, Winnie Beasley.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Chris Hopkins, Allan Hopkins, Edward Hopkins, Minniefield Mooney, Christian Crane, Eric Morgan, Eric Jones, Chri Bohannon and Cody Bohannon.

Mr. Hopkins worked at Rawls Hardware for 35 years.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Carl Joseph Nichols

Carl Joseph Nichols, age 56, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2007 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cathy Nichols, sons, Carl Joseph Nichols, Jr. &8220;Joey&8221; (fianc&e, Julie Hubbard) and David Adam Nichols (Nikki), daughter, Charlene Annette Nichols Cobb (Grady), grandchildren, Miranda, Courtney, Joseph and

Nathan Nichols and another due in November.

Preceding Mr. Nichols in death is his parents William and Virginia Nichols and brother, David Nichols.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 10, 2007 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. in Pineview Memory Gardens with

Daniel Martin officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Larry Nichols, Dennis Nichols, Grady Cobb, Junior Smith, Bruce Carswell, Carl Joseph Nichols, Jr. and David Adam Nichols.

Mr. Nichols owned the Millers Ferry Marina for ten years and also owned Nichols Treasures. He had a booth at the Selma Flea Market.

He loved antiques and yard selling. His time spent with his grandchildren and fishing was the things he most enjoyed.
