Augusta Bibb Collins

Augusta (Gussie) Bibb Collins, 95,

passed away, Saturday, December 16, 2006 in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be Sunday, December 17, 2006 at 2:00 p. m. in New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Deacon Brent

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Stinson, Selma; Granddaughters, Stacey (Brent) Keith, Selma; Marnie (John) Hutchinson, Birmingham; Grandsons Baxter Stinson, Selma,

and Nicky (Anne) Stinson, Montgomery; Great Grand Children, Walker and Brooks Stinson; John, Mary Russell, Catherine Hutchinson; Margaret, Ann Elizabeth, and Mary Hope Wells; Whitten and Asher Keith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Collins.

She was a member of Church Street Methodist, the Daughters of American Revolution, Colonial Dames XVII Century, UDC, and a long time member of the City Garden Club.

Mrs. Collins was born and raised in Belle Mina, Alabama in the family home built by Thomas Bibb, the first Governor of the State of Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, at the request of Gussie Collins, memorials may be made for Little Children of Church Street United Methodist Church

in care of Dawn Windland or to The Cathedral Of Christ The King.

Ann Marie Cook Black

Ann Marie Cook Black, age 57, passed away at her residence in Apopka, Florida, on December 14, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Robert

E. Black; her son, Andrew J. Staples (Anne); her step-daughter, Christie Kotwica (Jim); and two grandchildren, Brooke Kotwica and Alexis Kotwica. She is also survived by her brothers, George M. Cook (Gayle) of Orrville, William C. Cook (Maureen) of Monroe, Louisiana, and John C. Cook (Mary Jane) of Prattville; and her sister, Mary E. Cook of Valley Grande. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Cook, Sr.

Mrs. Black was a 1967 graduate of Albert G. Parrish High School and a graduate of the University of Alabama with a BS in Secondary Education and a Masters in Library Science. She was a librarian at West Orange High School in Orange County Florida.

Funeral services will be held in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or www.lungcanceralliance.org.

Ethel M. Hunter

Ethel M. Hunter, age 64, of Selma, AL died on December 12, 2006 in Selma. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2006 at 1:00 pm at East Salem Baptist Church with Reynolds Wesley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Walker Mortuary directing.

She was a member of the Greater New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She gave her life to Christ at a very early age. She will be missed dearly by the entire family and all her friends.

Survivors include: three Solomon Hunter, Samuel Hunter, Alphonso Hunter, James Johnson, Alonzo Green, and Michael Green; five daughters, Sarah A. Craig, Betty Hunter, Teresa Hunter, Setrina Hunter, and Shawnta Moultry, Jannie Johnson, and Vivian Thompson; a very special granddaughter that she raised as her own, Jessica Hunter; three brothers, Albert Jackson, Willie Davis and Roy Davis; six sisters, Dorothy young, Mary Marks, Mattie Robertson, Patricia Tarver, Verba Wesley, and Loretta Matthew; fifty-five grandchildren; five son-in-laws, twenty nephews, sixteen nieces.

Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Ella Flowers, 86, of Selma died at a local hospital on Dec. 15, 2006.

Willie J. Scott, 68, of Selma died at a local hospital on Dec. 16, 2006.

Doris Lee Gullett, 56, of Selma passed away Dec. 12 at a local

hospital.

of Selma passed away Dec. 14 at a Montgomery Nursing Facility. Final arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Minnie Louise Vaultz

Minnie Louise Vaultz, formerly of Selma, passed Dec. 15 at a Washington, D.C. area hospital. Final arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Lucy Speight, 91, of Selma, died Dec. 12, at Baptist South Hospital.

Viola Johnson

Viola Johnson, 72, of Selma, died Dec. 15 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Earl Barge

Earl Barge, 97, of Selma, died Dec. 15 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Brenda Murphy

Brenda Murphy of Selma died Dec. 16 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
