Ann Hamilton Underwood
Ann Hamilton Underwood died October 9, 2006.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2006, at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Selma, with the Rev. Mr. Polk Van Zant and the Rev. Mr. Joseph Knight officiating and interment at New Live Oak Cemetery, with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include two sons, Hugh W. Underwood III and his wife, Ginger, of Tuscaloosa, and Paul S. Underwood of Hammond, La.; one grandson, Hugh W. Underwood, IV, and his wife, Jenny, of Tuscaloosa; one great-granddaughter, Katherine Ross Underwood of Tuscaloosa; two nieces, Camilla Bracewell and her husband, Bill, of Athens, Ga., and Sharon Hamilton of Birmingham; a great niece, Alison McCullick and her husband Bryan of Athens, Ga.; a great-great niece, Adeline McCullick of Athens, Ga.; two nephews, W.E. Underwood of Memphis, Tenn., and Jefferson G. Underwood of Arlington, Va., and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Hugh W. Underwood; her parents, two sisters, Frances H. Hamilton and Cathrine H. Lide; a brother C. Hunter Hamilton; and an infant son, Robert Hamilton Underwood.
Mrs. Underwood was born on January 28, 1918, in Dallas County, the daughter of Camilla Hunter and Robert P. “Mr. Bob” Hamilton, whose forebears were early settlers in the southern and western areas of the county.
She was educated in the public schools of Selma and Bowling Green University, Bowling Green, Ky. She was one of the original civilian employees of Craig Field and worked there until her marriage in 1947, advancing from stenographer to classification analyst. She later worked in her husband’s office until their retirement in 1992. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of The Confederacy, The Selma Charity League and a life-long member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

David McLaughlin
David McLaughlin, 86, of Marion died Oct. 2, 2006, in Perry County Nursing Home in Marion.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 from Mt. Tabo AME Zion Church in Marion. The Pastor, Rev. Bryant Ivey, officiated. Burial followed in the Mt. Tabo cemetery with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.
James Brisco
James Brisco, 69, of Marion died Oct. 2, 2006 at his residence.
Funeral will be Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006 from Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Uniontown and Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.
Jimmy L. McGee
Mr. Jimmy L. McGee, age 38, of Plantersville, AL died on October 9, 2006 on Alabama Hwy 22 East in Selma, AL.
Funeral services will be announced later by Miller Funeral Service.
Arlean Rand Mckinney
Ms. Arlean Rand Mckinney, age 65, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formerly of Safford, AL, died on October 8, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital.

Hattie M. Clay
Mrs. Hattie M. Clay, age 88, of Selma, Alabama died on October 6, 2006 at Warren Manor Nursing Facility.
