Rebecca Mason

Rebecca Mason, age 92, resident of Selma died August 4, 2006 at her home in Selma, Alabama.

Services are scheduled for August 8, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church officiated by Dr. F. D. Reese. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memory Garden directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Service.

Survivors include four sons, Sylvester Mason of Reno, NV; Ernest Mason of Yuba, CA; Joe Mason of Mobile, AL; and Cornelius L. Mason of Mobile, AL; two daughters, Rose Mary Banks of Selma and Juanita Mason of Selma; one sister, Julia Roberts of Birmingham; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

James Calvin Sims

James Calvin Sims, age 70, died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at his home.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at New Live Oak Cemetery directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Martin officiating.

Mr. Sims is survived by his wife: Joan Taylor Sims; sons: James Walter Sims and James Robert Sims both from Texas; step-sons: James “Jim” Hadaway, and Scott A. Hadaway; daughters- Debbie and Tammy Sims both from Texas; step-daughters: Josie Hadaway Owens, and Jeanie Hadaway Motes; brother- Jerry Sims; step-brother: Caroll Hughes; sister- Ruth Hindman.

Mr. Sims is preceded in death by his step-daughter- Sue Hadaway Herrington.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Foley, Jimmy Herrington, Richard Motes, Dave Corey, Henry Spivey, and Tommy Grindle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stacy Hughey, Joe Allen, Terry Owens, and Mark Cooper.

The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2006.
