Frances G. Alison

Frances G. Alison, age 86, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Carolwville, AL. Visitation will be held in the church Parrish Hall one hour prior to the service. Survivors include one brother, Sam B. Alison and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montgomery Area Council on Aging, 115 E. Jefferson Street, Montgomery, AL 36104 or to one’s favorite charity.

George Jack Day

George Jack Day, age 72, of Tyler, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006 at a local hospital.

He is survived by his brothers, Brooks Day, Henry Day, Russell Day, and Victor Day; nieces and nephews, Rhonda Clarke, Christy Scott, Ashley Day, Stanley Day and Kevin Day. Special friends, Jackie and Shebra Kidd and their families Rene’, Lynn, Lyndsey, and Jackson Patton; Krystal, Eric and Ross Jones.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and one brother.

A memorial service will be announced at a later time by Lawrence Funeral Home.

Margie Freeland

Fort Walton, Fla. – Margie Freeland, age 77, of Fort Walton, Florida died on July 18, 2006 at Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton, Florida. A memorial service was held in Fort Walton.

Mrs. Freeland was along time employee of Peoples Bank and Trust in Selma. She was an active member of Elkdale Baptist Church. Due to failing health, she moved to Fort Walton to be near family members.

She is survived by her son, Greg Freeland of Fort Walton; a granddaughter, Jerica Freeland; four sisters, Bernice Oakes (Bennette) of Greensboro, AL, Myrlee (J.M.) Hartley of Montgomery, AL, Jo Ann (Bob) Sponaugle of Manassas, VA, and Faye Stripp (Wayne) of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by two brothers, Howard (Fredna) Edmonds of Selma, AL and Ford (Mary Ann) Edmonds, Townsend, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ada Edmonds of Greensboro, AL.

Rosie M. Bell , age 44, of Orrville, Alabama died on July 23, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Funeral services and survivors will be announced at a later date by Miller Funeral Service.

Newborn Victoria Ann Luker

Newborn Victoria Ann Luker, of Selma, Alabama passed away on July 22, 2006 in Selma. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home with Ken Scott and Dan Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her parents, Robert Luker III and Edie Luker; two brothers, Brandin King of Pensacola, Florida and Jason King of Panama City, Florida; one sister, Eliana Lucker of Selma, Alabama. Also surviving are her grandparents, Dan and Lotti Nixon of Selma, Alabama, Robert Lucker Jr. and Debbie Luker of Tuscaloosa, and Mary Ayotte of Selma, Alabama; her great grandparents, John and Mildred Aiello of Charleston, South Carolina, Marie Lucker of Selma, Alabama, and Irene Ayotte of Selma, Alabama; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
