Teddie Lamar Boley

Teddie Lamar Boley, age 57, of Sumter, SC died Tuesday July 11, 2006 in Selma. Funeral services and burial will be held in Sumter, SC on Saturday July 15, 2006.

Mr. Boley is survived by his mother, Barbara B. Boley of Selma, wife, Josephine M Boley of Sumter, SC, daughter, Bobbie Dee Swagert of Biloxi, MS, brothers, James (Teressa) Boley, Jr. and Ray (Kay) Boley, sisters, Deborah B. (Wayne) Reed, Patricia (George) York, Cindy (Brandon) Salser, many nieces and nephews, step-children, Randy Helms, Barry Helms, both of Sumter, SC, Timmy Helms of Monroe, NC, and Sherry (Frank) Currier of Washington DC, grandchildren, Tyler Baine of Atlanta, GA, Cody Helms, S. J. Currier, Crystal Wright, Kayla Helms, all of Sumter, SC. He was preceded in death by his father, James B Boley, Sr. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force and a graduate of Southside High School. The family will receive friends at Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home in Sumter on Friday evening.

Eddie Moore

Eddie Moore, age 81 of Selma died on July 10, 2006 at Lighthouse Nursing Home. Funeral services will be announced later by Miller Funeral Service.

Walter Jackson

Walter Jackson, age 43, of Marion died on July 8, 2006 at D.C.H. Hospital. Funeral services will be announced later by Miller Funeral Service.

Noah Cole

Noah Cole, age 71, of Selma, passed away July 10, 2006 at a local hospital.

Graveside services will be Thursday, July 13, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. Albert Hicks officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 6-8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth L. Cole; three daughters, Dianne Lecuyer, Karen (Jamie) Sims and Jennifer Cole; one brother, William Cole; one sister, Betty Ann Edwards; four grandchildren, Patricia and Jessica Lecuyer, Carrington Meyer and Jamison Sims and one great grandchild, Gavin Lecuyer.

Edna Earle Bender

Edna Earle Bender was born on July 6, 1923. She died in a hospital in Laurel, Mississippi on June 26, 2006 after a brief illness. Preceding her in death were her parents Mary Reid Cassady and Otis Bender, two brothers Dewitt and Cassady Bender of Selma; her husband Herman Jackson of Laurel, Mississippi; a grandson Herman (Pee Wee) Jackson of Laurel, Mississippi; and an unnamed baby sister.

Edna was born and raised in Dallas County in the Casey community now known as Southside. She attended local schools and had the honor of being in the first graduating class of the, then new, Albert G. Parrish High School. She was in the class of 1941. Edna worked at Brookly Field in Mobile during the war years, marrying a man from Mississippi in 1944. She lived in Laurel, Mississippi all her married life. She made frequent trips to Selma to see family and attend class reunions.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Fred and Elaine Jackson, Larry and Karen Jackson; two granddaughters Bridget Jackson who was particularly close to her grandmother and Jennifer Wigley two great grandchildren, all of Laurel, Mississippi; one brother Otis Bender of Selma and three sisters, Rubye Hulak of Valley Grande, Dorothy Masterman of St. Paul, Minnesota and Virginia Hull of Montgomery, Alabama.

A long time member of Park Haven Baptist Church, she was buried on June 28, 2006 in Union Line cemetery with Memory Chapel and the Reverend Henry Freeman taking care of the services.
