Comeback fuels Dixie Boys win over Clanton

CLANTON – An unlikely comeback highlighted the night for the Selma 13-year-old Dixie Boys team Saturday night.

Trailing the entire game, Selma scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 7-6 win over Clanton.

Richard Ghant led the way with three hits for Selma. Jacombi Smith followed with a pair of hits.

Selma was scoreless until the fourth when it posted two on the board.

Clanton pulled out to a 6-2 lead in the top of the fifth, but that ended its scoring for the night.

Daniel Blackmon was the winning pitcher for the Selma squad.

14-year-old Dixie Boys

JEMISON – Everybody on the Selma team shared the glory in a decisive win over Chiltauga Friday night.

Each batter in the lineup got at least one hit in a 10-1 win in the first game of the round robin tournament.

Selma starter Justin Freen got the job done on top of the hill and at the dish. He collected a win after giving up two hits, four walks and striking out nine batters. He also drove in one run and had three hits.

Phillip Green broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth with a three-run home run.

Johnny Franklin had two hits and two RBIs.

Ladarious Neely had three hits and drove in one run, and Forrest Hughes hit a double.
