Katherine Appel Stoddard, age 89, died Monday, June 12, 2006 at a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Old Live Oak Cemetery with Min. Tom McLemore officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Stoddard is survived by her daughters, Kay Stoddard (Bernard) Redd, Gail Stoddard (Nick) DiIenno, and Sandra Stoddard Barfield; grandchildren, Kim Burrow (Ray) Smitherman, Allison Roberts Whitfield, Kristen Barfield, Robert & Phillip DiIenno; great grandchildren, Sarah & Will Corey, Mallory Church, Tatum & Sloan Whitfield; nieces, Barbara Appel Skroback, Marshelle Appel Kennedy, Kate Appel Himes, and Meg Appel Youngblood.

Mrs. Stoddard was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Stoddard and her grand-daughter, Kelly Burrow Corey.

Mrs. Stoddard worked at Leikas and later at an accounting and finance at Craig Air Force Base.

Her last job which she retired from was at Kaysers.

She was a lifetime member of Houston Park Church of Christ.

Family will receive friends Wednesday after the service at Old Live Oak Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Selma- Dallas County Public Library.

George Burton

Osborn

George Burton Osborn, age

83, of Maplesville, AL died on June 10, 2006.

He was a veteran on World War II, First Calvary Division.

He is survived by a wife of 59 years, Ressie M. Osborn; son, Billy B. (Kathy) Osborn of Selma, AL; daughters, Glenda (Bruce) Hembree of Euless, TX, Wanda (Johnny) Hay of Clanton, AL, Bobbie Letch of North Andover, MA, and Lisa (Greg) Botts of Clanton, AL; eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a son, George Burton Osborn, Jr. and a grandson, Randall Lovelady.
