To the Editor:

Sitting here with a million thoughts running through my mind I wonder sometimes what it feels like to roam the streets where I did my crime. I am in a daze from the state of suppression within the walls of my incarceration neglected of all of the things that are rightfully mine.

I cannot blame anyone other than myself.

I chose to do the things of this world and now I am locked and confined behind a fence, missing my family. Tomorrow is not promised or the next day. I must do what I can to make it this day.

It’s been a struggle ever since Mother Earth was birth I can feel the pain that runs deep into ones that have been deprived.

I feel the same way inside.

It is a shame the way my people kill one another for the self satisfaction – we are a dead nation of people without the knowledge and culture of our heritage and until we change our ways we will forever be in a daze!

I have been incarcerated for 10 years for a mistake I made on taking someone’s life.
