Lovenia L. “Dink” Teel, 89, passed away on Thursday May 25, 2006.

Private graveside funeral services will be held in Cuthbert, GA.

Mrs. Teel was born in Selma, AL on July 19, 1916 to the late John and Katherine Smith Lassiter and was the widow of Emory C. Teel.

She attended school in Selma and graduated from Georgia State Women’s College in Valdosta in 1938, and in June 1940 married Emory C. Teel Jr. of Cuthbert.

In 1969 they moved to Warner Robins where Mrs. Teel continued her teaching career.

She was a devoted wife and mother and a dedicated teacher.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuthbert.

Her siblings Jean Chrisman and John Sidney Lassiter preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children: Mary T. (Robert) Mantiply of Warner Robins, Emory C. (Bev) Teel III of Ft. Pierce, FL.

Sister: Agnes Bell of Port St. Joe, FL.

Grandchildren: Tara Lee Teel of Bellevue, Colorado, Abigail Weston of Orem, Utah, John (Kandice) Mantiply of Stockbridge and Anne Mantiply of Warner Robins.

Nieces: Elizabeth McDonald and Frances O’Brien both of Montgomery, AL.

Three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Heritage Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

William Ford, age 58, resident of Detroit, MI (formerly of Perry County), died May 22, 2006 in Detroit, MI.

Francis H. Smitherman

Francis H. Smitherman, age 79, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2006 at the George C. Forsythe Hospice House Auburndale, Fla.

She was born in Selma, Alabama on July 12, 1926, moving to Lakeland, Fla. in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace E. and Audrie F. Hobbie, her loving husband, James E. Smitherman, daughter, Madelyn Jones and brother, Bryant Hobbie.

Graveside services will take place at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, AL with Rev. Wyatt officiating..

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to George C. Forsythe Hospice House, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, Fla. 33823.

Jessie J. Adams, age 70, resident of Selma died May 26, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Hospital.

Janie Mae McDaniel, resident of Los Angles, California (formerly of Dallas County), died May 25, 2006 in Los Angles.
